 Are you ready to make history and be part of something extraordinary? South Carolina High School Blitz is excited to announce the first-ever tryouts for the High School Girls Flag Football! This groundbreaking initiative is paving the way for high school girls across South Carolina to showcase their talent, athleticism, and passion for football. 

Flag football is one of the fastest-growing sports for young women in the United States, and we’re thrilled to bring this opportunity to South Carolina. With support from local coaches and schools, our mission is to demonstrate the enthusiasm and viability of girls flag football, ultimately urging the South Carolina High School League (SCHSL) to officially sanction it as a varsity sport.

Tryouts are open to all high school girls in grades 9 through 12 who are eager to play flag football. Whether you’re an experienced athlete or just looking for a new sport to try, this is your chance to join the movement and help us make history! 

 Flag football is more than just a game—it’s an opportunity for young women to develop leadership skills, build teamwork, and compete in an inclusive and empowering environment. Across the country, high school girls flag football is growing, with states like Georgia and Florida leading the charge. South Carolina has the talent and enthusiasm to join this movement, and your participation can help make it happen! 

• Girls will be evaluated on basic flag football skills, athletic ability, and teamwork.
• Coaches will be on-site to offer guidance and encouragement throughout the process.
• No prior football experience is required—just bring your energy, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn!

Our goal is to form at least one team of 15–20 players, with the potential to expand to two teams depending on turnout. This pilot team will serve as a showcase to inspire further interest and growth in girls flag football across the state.

By participating in this initiative, you’ll play a vital role in demonstrating to the SCHSL that girls flag football deserves a place in South Carolina’s high school sports lineup.
