TO BE ELITE YOU HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE ELITE!

High School Blitz held their 3rd Annual Junior Showcase Bowl Game on January 15TH @ 12:00 noon at Brookland-Cayce High School. Family, friends, and fans joined us to watch some of the most talented football players in South Carolina battle it out. Coached by Derek Howard II , head coach at Ridge View high school, the WestTeam won 31 - 10 for the 3rd straight year. It was also the first time since Blitz has being  (junior or senior) hosting these games that it has NOT rained! 

A big thank you goes out to Battalion Commander Sergeant Major (CSM) Norris MCCall for agreeing to perform our pregame coin toss. CSM McCall is a graduate of Chesterfield High School but now lives in Cheraw with his wife and 4 beautiful children. When he is not “flipping coins” at football games, CSM McCall is managing all recruiting activities in the state of South Carolina. We would also like to thank Sergeant (SGT) Jimmy Townsend II for rendering our National Anthem. He is a member of the Joint Forces Headquarters and the Public Affairs Detachment. In addition, we have to recognize the soldiers from the Recruitment Sustainment Program who were awaiting their ship dates to Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training along with the Brookland-Cayce JROTC for presenting the Salute to Troops American Flag across the field.  If you missed it, you missed a treat.

It was an honor partnering with the SC Army National Guard to bring this year’s junior and senior games. We look forward to continuing this partnership next year!
